Figurative Language

Below are the different forms of Figurative Language

Personification:
Giving human qualities to inanimate objects, ideas, or animals.
 
Simile:
A direct comparsion introduced by as or like.
 
Metaphor:
A comparsion which uses one object or event as the equivalent of another.
 
Hyperbole:
An exaggeration for the sake of emphasis, not to be taken literally.
 
Onomantopoeia:
 Words which have sounds that imitate their meaning.
 
Alliliteration:
The repetition of an initial letter or sound.
